Laminate Flooring vs Hardwood Flooring

wood-flooring.gifSo what should I choose, what are the major differences between hardwood flooring and laminate flooring.

Well, wood floors are of course wood. This means it is a natural material, non-allergic material. Solid wood floors generally come in 2 basic varieties.

  1. Solid Wood Floors - Solid wood floors are 100% wood, cut right from the tree. Sensitive to humidity and can expand and contract, recommended for above ground installations.
  2. Engineered Wood Floors - Are usually several layers of wood glued together, is less sensitive to conditions and can be installed in more areas.
